So I found this really cute material at joannes for only 50 cents a yard and I bought all they had left (1.5 yards). Don't you love the kids' shorts? Carl got a little cranky during the photo shoot. Now I should probably make some for Cadie :).
BTW, the pattern came from youcanmakethis.com (knit ruffle pants---shorter and without the ruffle, of course!).

I love the shorts!!! They could be the new "cousinhood of the travelling shorts!!" I wish I could sew . . . . I should give it a try! the stuff you make is so cute!! Love you! :)
